About

Former mathematics and science teacher Diana Miranda-Gaeddert is the Mermaid. John Gaeddert is the Weasel. Their gift shop at 3126 Main Street in Buffalo offers a unique selection of items that appeal to science nerds and gadget geeks.  Much of their selection is hand-crafted by local talent, including members of the University Heights Arts Association. 

Mermaid & Weasel's cozy shop carries Dashboard Eyeballs, Cat Buddhas, Finger Zombies, a selection of pirate gear, and Horsehead Squirrel Feeders. There is also a selection of steampunk boxes, ninja socks, unqiue wall hangings and unusual jewelry pieces.  Visitors can also stop in for gum, candy and snacks!

 

UHAA

The UHAA collaborates with Mermaid & Weasel to produce artistic activities including workshops and integrated arts activities.  

Mermaid & Weasel is an Art Crawl Partner location.  The UHAA hosts mini-displays/exhibitions as part of the Art Crawl of two and three-dimensional items with a preference toward items that fit the store's preference of a science, nerdy or crafty theme.
