ARTcovz®

The mission of the University Heights Arts Association (UHAA) is to offer free art projects to the community through the use of recycled materials and empty spaces. The ARTcovz® program of the UHAA features dispensers that offer free pre-packaged art projects made from recycled, discarded and leftover materials.

ARTcovz® self-serve art booths invite visitors to select a free art project to produce at home. Each dispenser contains pockets, hooks and shelves that are filled

with prepackaged art-themed samplers that explore fine art, crafts, literature, or local music. UHAA ARTseeds and related gardening art projects can also be found in the dispenser.

A bin at the bottom of each dispenser accepts donations. Each mini-art kit contains materials and a set of directions for completing a single project, a link to further UHAA resources including an online database of additional projects and a schedule of upcoming events where we will offer sit-down projects.

the community to serve those who wish to enjoy them, often including those with financial or social

constraints, and those with disabilities. UHAA artists

and educators tailor-make appropriate projects for each

location.

The first ARTcovz dispenser was unveiled on March 2, 2016 at the Western New York Independent Living of Genesee, in Batavia, New York. The ARTcovz there dispenses disability-friendly projects.
The first ARTcovz
ARTcovz Dispenser was unveiled at Christ United Methodist Church in Amherst, New York in May of 2016. This ARTcovz will serve many children who attend the nursery and preschool there, as well as adult and youth parishoners.
Students from the University at Buffalo attended this ARTcovz Packaging
Event as part of their annual day of community service. Each packaging event packages an average of 450 projects for the dispensers.
