Morgan Jamie Dunbar:

Morgan is a creator and student of Life, working with mixed media, including stained glass, paint and clay. Morgan's work is an extension of her embodied experiences and the liberating effects of both struggle and letting go.

MacNore Iman:

MacNore is an evolving artist, pulling from his roots as a native of Jamaica and his experiences of colonization. His stated objective is to express and nurture love through conscious embodiment and understanding of Self.

UHAA:

Morgan and MacNore participate in the.UHAA Art Partnering Program.

Decolonized Minds

About the Exhibition:

The "Decolonized Minds" exhibition features works by Morgan Jamie Dunbar and MacNore Iman, a Buffalo-based design duo known as Conscious Creationz. By challenging the constructs of colonization, whether they present externally or internally, we are able to empower ourselves with the tools of liberation. The work aims to provoke examination of personal identity and encourages the blurring of socially accepted margins in an effort to contest limitations of Self. Boundaries do not exist outside of perception. Decolonized minds challenge the conscious collective to reject the separation inherent in a colonized assessment of Self and the restrictions present when we accept boundaries to our own creativity.
