Tracey Mitchell Miles
Painting, Fashion, Food & Display Designer
Tracey Mitchell Miles is a strong, black, 55 year old woman, mother, and artist. She is a native Buffalonian who received her education at Calasanctius and Canisius Schools. Throughout her life, her creativity has always come through in her work. Tracey has been an international award-winning chocolatier and owner of Chocolate by the Miles, display designer, food stylist, and costume designer.
Tracey had never thought of herself as a painter, however, her boyfriend, actor John F. Kennedy, thought differently. On a fall day in 2017, he brought home an easel and a master art kit. Thus, Tracey Mitchell Miles Art was born. She had to make her own first canvas from a 40” square of cardboard and an old linen bedspread. Tracey’s first work, a brightly colored painting titled, “The Table”, has a Matisse-like feel about it, while being truly her own. Tracey’s mediums include acrylics, markers, and watercolors and her works are full of bright, beautiful colors. They often depict flowers and geometrics, frequently from a vantage point in a witty room. As a fan of hidden pictures as a child, she often hides little “Easter eggs” in her works.
Tracey is currently working on several new pieces, as well as creating her new line, “Transition Art Prints”. These prints can be displayed as traditional prints or placed in a window (or back lit) for a mock stained glass look. Tracey Mitchell Miles is honored and excited to be working with the University Heights Arts Association. Her prints can be viewed and purchased on her online gallery, on her website.
Tracey participates in the UHAA ARTpartnering program.
